From 9th April to 31st August 2025, the Mus\u00e9e Marmottan Monet<\/a> presents the exhibition Eug\u00e8ne Boudin, the father of Impressionism: a private collection<\/em>. Curated by Laurent Manoeuvre, Art historian and research engineer at the French Museums Department, this exhibition shows 80 artworks from collector Yann Guyonwarc\u2019h who has assembled a collection of works by Eug\u00e8ne Boudin (1824\u20131898) that is unrivalled in any museum in the world. In addition, 10 paintings from the Paris institution are presented, as well as several loans from the Mus\u00e9e des Beaux-Arts in Agen and the Mus\u00e9e d’Art Moderne Andr\u00e9 Malraux<\/a> in Le Havre. <\/p>\n

Every facet of the artist\u2019s career is represented, from his first paintings in Le Havre to his final trip to Venice; from private sketches to paintings for the Salon (including one of the two largest beach scenes ever painted by Boudin).<\/p>\n

The works in this prestigious collection are matched with the holdings of the Mus\u00e9e Marmottan Monet, to highlight the dialogue between Boudin and his main pupil, Claude Monet, in the exhibition Eug\u00e8ne Boudin, the father of Impressionism: a private collection<\/em>. <\/p>\n

Thanks to the participation of the Durand-Ruel archives, the relationship between the two artists and their main dealer is also explored. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
