{"id":8726,"date":"2024-03-19T14:16:33","date_gmt":"2024-03-19T13:16:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/voyagesimpressionnistes.com\/uncategorized\/celebrer-les-150-ans-de-limpressionnisme-sur-les-bords-de-seine\/"},"modified":"2024-11-04T14:50:15","modified_gmt":"2024-11-04T13:50:15","slug":"150-anniversary-impressionism-banks-of-the-seine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/voyagesimpressionnistes.com\/en\/banks-seine\/150-anniversary-impressionism-banks-of-the-seine\/","title":{"rendered":"Celebrate 150 years of Impressionism on the banks of the Seine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In this year celebrating the <a href=\"\/paris-montmartre\/150-ans-impressionnisme\/\">150th anniversary of the birth of Impressionism<\/a>, a number of towns on the banks of the Seine are celebrating the birthplace of this avant-garde movement that left its mark on the history of art.<\/p>\n<h3>From Meudon to Levallois<\/h3>\n<p>At the Mus\u00e9e d\u2019art et d\u2019histoire de Meudon, the exhibition <em><a href=\"\/les-bords-de-seine\/constant-pape-1865-1920-la-banlieue-post-impressionniste\/\">Constant Pape (1865-1920), la banlieue post-impressionniste<\/a><\/em> will celebrate this descendant of Impressionism, from 21st September on. In Levallois, the Salon du Roman Historique embraces the Impressionist theme with, notably, on 7th July, a reading of letters between female Impressionist Berthe Morisot and symbolist poet St\u00e9phane Mallarm\u00e9 set to music.<\/p>\n<h3>In Argenteuil<\/h3>\n<p>The town of Argenteuil is putting on a rich and varied programme of some 50 events between April and December. <em>Les nocturnes de l\u2019Impressionnisme<\/em>, a projection mapping show on 12th and 13th April, and the exhibition <a href=\"\/les-bords-de-seine\/impressions-urbaines\/\"><em>Impressions urbaines<\/em><\/a> will mix history and contemporary creation. On 1st May, the F\u00eate des berges celebrates open-air riverside leisure pursuits from 19th century to the present.  On 1<sup>st<\/sup> May, the <a href=\"\/les-bords-de-seine\/fete-des-berges-a-argenteuil\/\">F\u00eate des berges<\/a> celebrates open-air riverside leisure pursuits from 19<sup>th<\/sup> century to the present.<\/p>\n<h3>Around Chatou and Bougival<\/h3>\n<p>From 23rd March to 13th October, lectures, guided and theatrical tours, <a href=\"\/les-bords-de-seine\/le-crime-de-chanorier-a-croissy-sur-seine\/\">giant Cluedo<sup>\u24c7<\/sup><\/a>, river cruises, cultural walks and <a href=\"\/les-bords-de-seine\/chemin-des-impressionnistes-a-louveciennes\/\">trails<\/a>, Impressionist picnics, even painting workshops\u2026 there\u2019s a fine season of events to enjoy on the banks of the Seine here in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Impressionism!<\/p>\n<p>Not to be missed is the festival <a href=\"\/les-bords-de-seine\/festival-150-ans-de-l-impressionnisme-croissy\/\"><em>Les 150 ans de l\u2019Impressionnisme<\/em><\/a> in Croissy-sur-Seine from 22nd au 24th March, the exhibition <a href=\"\/les-bords-de-seine\/absinthe-fee-verte-ou-noir-demon\/\"><em>Absinthe, f\u00e9e verte ou noir d\u00e9mon<\/em><\/a>, until 30th June 2024 at the Mus\u00e9e de la Grenouill\u00e8re, the <a href=\"\/les-bords-de-seine\/tournoi-joutes-nautiques-bougival\/\">nautical Jousts,<\/a> the 1<sup>st<\/sup> May in Bougival, the exhibition <a href=\"\/les-bords-de-seine\/chefs-doeuvre-du-musee-welcome-to-the-maurice-denis-museum\/\"><em>Chefs-d\u2019\u0153uvre du mus\u00e9e: Welcome to the Maurice Denis museum<\/em><\/a>, from 21<sup>st<\/sup> May to Mus\u00e9e Maurice Denis, the Dinner of the boating party organized the 1st June at the Hameau Fournaise in Chatou, not to mention the 4<sup>th<\/sup> edition of the <a href=\"\/les-bords-de-seine\/festival-lumieres-impressionnistes-2024-scandale-scandale\/\">Festival Lumi\u00e8res impressionnistes<\/a>, on the topic \u201cScandale, scandale!\u201d from 5th to 7th
