This exhibition allows you to learn all about Maurice Denis, the man and the artist, through his life, focusing on how his art evolved. It reveals the progression of a painter based his whole life in the town of Saint-Germain-en-Laye, west of Paris, his series of homes here acting as a backdrop to a number of his works. This opening exhibition in Musée Maurice Denis is enhanced by the loan of several pieces from Paris’s Musée d’Orsay, notably Les Muses, one of Maurice Denis’s most famous canvases.
