Opéra Garnier

Famed throughout the world, the Opéra Garnier has, since 1875, had pride of place at the end of one of Paris’s most luxurious avenues drawn up by Baron Haussmann.

As to the artist Edgar Degas, who so loved music and dance, he was particularly keen on observing rehearsals here, on the stage or in the foyer, as well as the action behind the scenes, capturing such moments in his most beautiful paintings and sculptures, including his Petite danseuse.
