To mark the significant donation recently made by Jean-Marie Rouart of the Académie Française, the Petit Palais is devoting an exhibition to his highly influential Parisian family that included both artists and collectors.
The 12 canvases making up the donation are presented in such a way as to create clear links with other works in museum collections associated with the Rouart family, notably pastels and paintings by Berthe Morisot, Edgar Degas and Auguste Renoir.
